great sole and comfyness as ever but why all that blasted velcro? Not only the velcro straps but as others have mentioned the full length strip up inside. And its impossible to match up smoothly, I have thin calfs and it barely fits. I unstitched it and took it off!
I was really looking forward to receiving these as I love my Yule pair. I like the fact that these ones are funkier with the additional straps around them. They are lovely to look at, especially in the photos, however, the unfortunate thing is that I didn’t realise they weren’t zip ups like my Yule pair are. To do them up there is a strip of velcro where a zip would normally be. The straps then wrap round and are fastened with more velcro. I found it difficult to get a closed ‘look’ due to the velcro strip and frankly think they look sloppy. Really am not impressed…all it would take is a zip and these would be a whole other boot and one I would DEFINITELY love. Sadly though, I’m left disappointed and am returning them.
Quality was fine but I was disappointed with the style and fit so had to send back.
I am a size 5 and ordered a 5 which was fine for me on the foot. However they were definitely tight and uncomfortable around the calves. I am a petite person with very thin ankles and (what I thought were!) ordinary size calves so I was very surprised and disappointed. You cannot just simply adjust the 3 horizontal velcro straps as there is a long thin velcro strap running vertically as well where you open them up. I like boots that you can just pull on quickly or zip up so even if they fitted better, this design would have annoyed me somewhat. I have a black pair of the Yule style and these are great, really comfortable and I definitely rate the quality of Fly boots.
Re the colour, from what I remember, they are a more pinky than blueish purple.
Boots were lovely and beautiful quality but sadly had too little space around the ankle for me to get them on.
These boots are very comfortable and are made of good quality fine leather. The purple colour is a lovely mixture between vine and purple. They come rather big (in length). I ususally wera a 42 in shoes and tried on a different pair of Flys in 41 in the past, but they were always too small. So I was a bit reluctant about ordering from amazon, as they only stock up to a size 41. Luckily I had the opportunity to try a similar style on in a shop beforehand and to my big surperise the 41s were actually a really nice fit. I even have a bit of room left at the front and can wear them with slightly thicker socks. I’ve worn these boots with trousers and skirts and received lots (!) of compliments. You can wear them all day! It feels like wearing trainers or slippers. They are unbelievably comfortable. Also great for driving because of the slightly angled heel. Only downside is when trying trousers on in a changing cubicle for example and having to change into and out oof these boots quickly the whole “undoing and redoing the velcro routine” can be a bit time consuming (they don’t just have the three velcro straps visible on the photos, but also another longer vertical velcro srip up the whole length of the inside leg. But apart from that I would definitely recommend them.
